No credible tips or sightings after Amber Alert issued for missing children
CALDWELL, Idaho (KBOI) — Detectives in Caldwell say they've received copious amounts of tips after an Amber Alert was issued earlier this week for three missing children.
But as of Wednesday, there have been no confirmed tips or sightings, Caldwell Police tell KBOI 2News.
On Monday, an Amber Alert was issued forLewis Dunn, 10, Kaylee Dunn, 9, and Kadyn Simon, 6, who are believed to be with Jason "Travis" Simon, who's wanted on a charge of sex abuse of a child. The children are believed to be in imminent danger.
Detectives say Simon and his girlfriend, Sarah Joy VanOcker-Dunn, share a house in Caldwell with her three children, who are between the ages of six and 10 years old. The sheriff's office believes one of the children is a victim of Simon's.A warrant has also been issued for VanOcker-Dunn for felony charge of custodial interference.
Caldwell Police told KBOI 2News on Wednesday that tips have come in from Nevada, California, Oregon and Washington. Detectives are combing through the tips and contacting local law enforcement agencies to check out the tips to see if they're credible. In the Treasure Valley, police are checking tips and seeing if there's any video surveillance.
Caldwell PD said the couple likely received the Amber Alerts on their cell phones and they're probably hunkered down somewhere. A warrant has also been issued for VanOcker-Dunn for felony charge of custodial interference. Investigators believe her hair might be dyed red.
They were last seen in Sparks, Nev., on Sunday.
